Job summary

Hazeldenes Chicken Farm in regional Victoria seeks an experienced Hatchery Driver to safely collect eggs from breeder farms and deliver day-old chicks from hatchery to broiler farms. The role involves mainly driving with a smaller portion spent loading and unloading shipments on farm visits.

You will be responsible for safe unloading, pallet transfers, and ensuring animal welfare while adhering to fatigue management and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence and clean driving record.
• Ability to handle loading/unloading egg shipments.
• Commitment to safety and fatigue management.
• Willingness to work in a hatchery environment.

Responsibilities

• 80% driving and 20% loading/unloading of eggs and day-old chicks.
• Loading eggs from trolleys onto truck at farm and unloading eggs at hatchery.
• Loading and unloading of day-old chicks from company vehicles on farm.
• Ensure the inside of trucks is kept clean and tidy.
• Follow road rules and drive in a safe manner at all times.
• Follow basic fatigue management guidelines.
• Ensure all licence requirements are kept valid.
• Safe unloading of eggs and chicks from the truck.
• Ensure pallet transfer or exchange is completed and monitor numbers.
• Ensure animal welfare.
• Notify damages or threats immediately.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Hatchery Driver is responsible for the safe collection of eggs from breeder farms and Delivery of Day-old chicks from Hatchery to Broiler Farms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role should be typically an 80% driving and 20% loading unloading of Egg and Day old chicks.

Truck & Driving

• Loading eggs from trolleys onto truck at farm – unloading eggs at hatchery.
• Loading and unloading of Day-old chicks from company vehicles on farm.
