Job summary

Specialised Breeders Australia is seeking a Hatchery Administrator at our Rochester Commercial Hatchery to support daily operations, customer service and hatch-day coordination. Based at the Rochester hatchery, you will manage reception, coordinate administrative processes across Commercial and Genetic Hatcheries, and assist Hatchery Management.

This fast-paced role requires strong organisation, excellent communication, biosecurity compliance and a proactive approach to keeping documentation

Responsibilities

• Handle reception and deliver excellent customer service on hatch days.
• Provide admin support to Hatchery Management (filing, reporting, minutes).
• Maintain timesheets, payroll approvals and personnel records.
• Prepare weekly operational reports (egg stock, hatch, distribution).
• Capture customer orders and ETA information in the setting program.
• Manage consumables stock and petty cash reconciliation.
• Coordinate delivery documentation and liaise with Head Office for invoicing.
• Support the Customer & Planning Coordinator and Transport Supervisor (book freight).
• Uphold biosecurity, animal welfare and WHS requirements.
• Maintain a tidy, professional reception/office environment.
