Job summary

Costa Group, Australia’s largest grower, packer and marketer of premium fresh fruit and vegetables, invites applications for a Harvest Assistant Manager. You will plan and coordinate harvest operations across grape seasons, ensuring safety, quality and productivity while mobilising labour efficiently.

You’ll lead in-field teams during peak periods, manage labour cohorts and drive a strong safety culture, with emphasis on food safety and adherence to specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role on a large-scale horticultural property.
• Technical knowledge of grape harvest operations is advantageous.
• Strong time management and ability to drive production deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with a large, culturally diverse workforce.
• Computer literacy including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate year-round harvest activities and mobilise labour including contractor workers.
• Supervise, train and performance manage work crews to improve productivity.
• Ensure daily worker performance and quality assessments are conducted and issues communicated.
• Deliver daily pre-start toolbox talks reinforcing safety and quality standards.
