Job summary

Lancemore Milawa is seeking a hands-on Handyperson/Gardener to deliver exceptional presentation of the gardens and grounds across the property. The role includes lawn mowing, pruning, fertilising, planting and general maintenance, with a focus on guest-focused service in a boutique hotel setting.

Flexible rostering and opportunities for permanent employment may be available for the right candidates, with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to coordinate contractors when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience fixing day-to-day issues (lights, taps, painting, etc).
• Knowledge of safety standards and codes of practice.
• Ability to maintain gardens and hotel grounds to a high standard.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional presentation of gardens and grounds across the property.
• Perform lawn mowing, edging, pruning, fertilising, planting and turfing tasks.
• Carry out day-to-day general maintenance across hotel rooms and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency calls.
• Maintain tools, equipment and working areas in good condition.
• Assist with long-term planning and development of the property.

About The Role:

• Deliver exceptionalpresentation of the gardens & grounds across the property.
• Knowledge of modern techniques inLawn mowing and edging, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilising, planting, turfing, pest and disease control,
• Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties within the hotel rooms and public areas
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency calls
• Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in proper condition
• Make recommendations for the property and assist with the long-term planning and development of the complex.

About You:

• Positive and optimistic attitude - "we can do anything" approach
• Experience with fixing day to day things - lights, taps, painting etc
• Logical approach to problem solving
• Ability to coordinate contractors to get efficient results
• Ability to understand what the customer sees - and ensure our property is always kept to the highest standard
• Ability to work with teams, and communicate clearly and in time
• Knowledge of a trade beneficial
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice highly regarded
• Strong communication skills
• Supervisory experience of maintenance activities in a fast-moving lean environment
• Hands on role with a solid understanding, ideally experience in hotels
