Job summary

EVT Limited in Sydney is hiring a part-time maintenance technician for The Capital (22 hours per week) to support the property's summer readiness. You will perform routine repairs, respond to guest requests, and log defects, while maintaining safety and cleanliness in public areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance or handyman roles.
• Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
• Good communication with a guest-focused service mindset.
• Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry basics.
• Ability to follow WH&S procedures and safety guidelines.
• Experience using maintenance systems and logging work accurately.
• Physically fit and able to respond quickly across the hotel.
• Flexible availability, including rotating shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repairs and maintenance across hotel facilities and guest areas.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental requests for assistance or repairs.
• Complete tasks from the maintenance checklist, work request system, and verbal instructions.
• Log and report all defects, repairs, and actions taken accurately.
• Ensure public areas and equipment are safe, clean, and fully operational.
• Liaise with tradespeople or the Maintenance Manager for complex repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with WH&S guidelines.
• Support other departments with maintenance-related needs and requests.
• Rotate as Shift Operator and attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Join the team at The Capital on a part-time bases (22hrs) and support with the maintenance of the property, ready for Summer.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and WH&S guidelines.
• Comfortable using maintenance systems and logging work accurately.
