Direct Hire is seeking a Service Person / Trade Assistant to service, repair and coordinate maintenance of a wide range of small plant and equipment at the Sumner workshop. The role offers a Full Time opportunity with training and career development in a growing team.

You will represent Direct Hire's commitment to service quality and safety, while maintaining high standards of equipment readiness and customer support on site.

The opportunity

We have an opportunity for either a Qualified Small Engine Mechanic / Mechanical Trade Assist / or Service-Person (a non-qualified but mechanically minded individual) to service, repair and coordinate small plant and equipment maintenance at our Sumner workshop.

The role will work with a large range of equipment covering: from portable toilets, chainsaws, whipper snippers, excavators, scissor lifts, to boom lifts, cherry pickers, mini loaders, quick cut saws, plate compactors, trailers, vacuum pumps, a range of different size motors, generators and much, much more.

You will form part of a growing team who will support you with ongoing training with an opportunity for career development, whilst enjoying a secure place to work.

You will be in charge of representing and showcasing Direct Hire's excellent service and equipment quality, expert advice, whilst maintaining high standards of equipment quality through servicing, a positive attitude and a safety conscious approach to your everyday tasks.

To be successful for this position, the following qualifications are preferable:

• Mechanical trade (Small engine desirable but not essential)

• Forklift license and construction white card (Essential)

• Team player and willingness to learn on the job

• Punctual with a professional approach

• Safety conscious
