Hassett Group is partnered with an established Australian organisation to recruit an experienced Technical Lead in Armidale, NSW. You will own the technical direction and delivery of core software platforms while remaining hands-on and mentoring a small development team.

The environment emphasizes backend development, databases, REST APIs and cloud/Linus operations, with an opportunity to shape engineering practices and translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Formación

• Strong commercial software development experience with a focus on backend engineering.
• Experience operating as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer or highly experienced Senior Software Engineer.
• Strong SQL, relational database design and data modelling skills.
• Experience across application architecture and solution design.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• The ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands‑on;
• Experience mentoring and supporting other developers;
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
• The ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead solution design and technical architecture across core applications.
• Remain hands-on across software development, database design and integrations.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to a small development team.
• Design and optimise relational databases, data models and data flows
• Develop and support REST API integrations.
• Improve engineering practices across code review, testing, documentation and deployment.
• Identify and prioritise technical debt and platform improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex application, database and production issues.
• Work across AWS and Linux environments.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
