Job summary
Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking an experienced Safety Lead for a large, highly automated distribution centre in Truganina, Melbourne. You will own safety across a 24/7 operation of ~300 staff, partnering with Operations to embed safety into daily decisions and drive practical risk controls.
The role requires hands-on safety leadership on the shop floor, close collaboration with operational leaders, and a focus on reducing incidents while maintaining productivity in a fast-paced logistics
Qualifications
- Experience leading safety in distribution centres or high-risk operations.
- Strong knowledge of machinery, MHE and pedestrian safety.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and embed safety culture.
- Hands-on, floor-level safety approach.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own safety across the distribution centre.
- Build strong relationships with operations and key stakeholders.
- Provide practical safety advice and support site-wide.
- Identify, assess and manage operational risks.
- Manage risks associated with MHE, forklifts and pedestrian interaction.
- Support incident investigation and management.
- Drive safety initiatives and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
- Partner with Operations to implement practical risk controls.
- Provide visible safety leadership across the site.
