Sydney Tools is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to drive product optimisation, liaise with local and international manufacturers, and support troubleshooting across our repairs and procurement teams.

The role focuses on improving performance, reliability, and quality of a wide range of tools, without original design work, collaborating with a global manufacturing network to deliver real-world solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience as a mechanical engineer focusing on product optimisation, quality, or manufacturing support.
• Experience collaborating with local and overseas manufacturers.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical bridge between repairs team, procurement and global manufacturing network.
• Analyse and improve tools for performance and reliability (no design work).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues with repairs team.
• Collaborate with lead technicians and stakeholders across Australia to meet project goals.
• Ensure products comply with regulatory, performance and quality standards.
• Partner with procurement to source high quality spare parts from local and international suppliers.
• Provide technical advice to warranties department during claims.
