Job summary

Parkes Shire Council is seeking a Concreting and Civil Construction Labourer to join the Urban Works team in a permanent full-time role. The role focuses on learning on‑the‑job with supportive training opportunities including a Certificate III in Concreting.

Ideal candidates are reliable, hardworking and prepared to work outdoors, delivering essential infrastructure across the Parkes Shire with guidance from an experienced team.

Qualifications

• Current and maintained driver’s licence.
• SafeWork NSW Construction induction (White Card).
• Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
• Experience in civil construction, concreting, landscaping, maintenance or similar is valued, but entry-level applicants are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with road construction and maintenance, including tar patching.
• Assisting with concrete works, including kerb and gutter, footpaths, roads and drainage.
• Installing and maintaining signs and roadside furniture.
• Undertaking traffic control duties, including certification.
• Operating and maintaining small plant and equipment.
• Assisting with works survey set-out.
• Maintaining records of work activities.
• Working collaboratively with the team.
