Job summary

TAFE NSW Life-Changing Careers is seeking a Class Preparation Assistant – Hair and Beauty to support high-quality learning environments at the Blue Mountains Katoomba Campus. You will help maintain classrooms and salons, manage stock, and prepare materials for practical training, with no teaching duties required.

The role is permanent part time (17.5 hours per week for 41 weeks) and offers a salary package around AU$63,778–AU$78,538, including base pay and employer superannuation, pro‑rata.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III or equivalent in Hairdressing/Beauty.
• Knowledge of relevant consumables and industry equipment.
• Knowledge of WHS and chemical management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean materials cupboards, benches, fixtures, furniture, tools, machinery, and equipment in classrooms, salons and storage areas.
• Receive goods from suppliers and verify quantities and quality per ordering specs.
• Ensure stock, consumables and class materials are available to support training activities.
• Prepare and organise materials and resources for classes.
• Receive, record and store equipment returned from classes per procedures.
• Monitor stock and usage and recommend replenishment as needed.
• Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and secure storage.
• Support safe, clean, well-organised learning environments in line with WHS requirements.
