Job summary

City of Kingston is seeking Gym Instructors for flexible casual roles across leisure centres, with start near the opening of the new Mordi Aquatic Centre. You will deliver tailored fitness programs, guide safe gym use, and lead engaging small-group sessions in a welcoming Health Club environment.

You should have Certificate III and IV in Fitness and CPR, with optional Fitness Industry Registration; PT experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Current Fitness Industry Registration desirable.
• Experience delivering fitness instruction.

About the role

As a Gym Instructor, you will support members to achieve their fitness goals by providing safe, effective guidance and delivering engaging small group training sessions. You’ll play an important role in creating a positive Health Club environment and contributing to strong member satisfaction and participation.

What you’ll deliver:

• Fitness programs and consultations tailored to individual needs
• Clear guidance on safe and effective use of gym equipment
• Engaging small group training sessions
• A clean, safe, and well-maintained Health Club environment
• Timely and helpful for member enquiries and feedback
• Day-to-day gym operations, including basic admin and record keeping
• Optional Personal Training opportunities, paid at sessional rates, with the potential to build your own client base. PT Experience is desirable but not essential.

Your Skills and Experience

• Experience delivering fitness instruction and consultations
• PT experience highly desired
• Ability to provide clear and practical fitness advice
• Skills in engaging and supporting a wide range of Health Club users
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage daily tasks
