State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) is seeking a Casual Gym Floor Attendant for MSAC to welcome members, provide fitness guidance and deliver safe, engaging programming. You will perform consultations, help with equipment use and support floor operations in a dynamic health and wellness environment.

The role emphasizes safe exercise practices, strong customer service and teamwork within a leadership-focused health team at MSAC.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Fitness is essential.
• Certificate IV in Fitness is desirable.
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications required.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong knowledge of health, fitness and safe exercise practices.
• Experience in fitness, recreation or health environment is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests.
• Conduct fitness consultations, health assessments and equipment inductions.
• Assist members with correct gym equipment use and exercise techniques.
• Deliver fitness programs and small group training sessions.
• Monitor gym floor safety and ensure equipment is clean and functional.

About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Gym Floor Attendant to join our Health & Wellness team at MSAC.

As a Gym Floor Attendant, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming, safe and engaging fitness environment for our members and guests. You will provide fitness guidance, conduct consultations, support gym operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and help members achieve their health and wellness goals through safe and effective exercise practices.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing exceptional customer service to members and guests.
• Conducting fitness consultations, health assessments and equipment inductions.
• Assisting members with the correct use of gym equipment and exercise techniques.
• Delivering fitness programs and small group training sessions.
• Monitoring gym floor safety and ensuring equipment is clean, maintained and operational.
• Responding promptly to customer enquiries, feedback and concerns.
• Building positive relationships with members to support engagement and retention.
• Supporting the Health & Wellness team in the delivery of programs, promotions and events.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, service and presentation throughout the fitness facility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Certificate III in Fitness (essential).
• Certificate IV in Fitness (desirable).
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
• Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong fitness programming and exercise prescription knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong understanding of health, fitness and safe exercise practices.
• Experience in a fitness, recreation or health and wellness environment is highly regarded.
