Job summary

Areti Professional in Sydney's Brighton-Le-Sands area is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join the Business Services and Tax team. You will gain exposure to taxation, financial reporting, and direct client liaison while handling diverse client portfolios.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor in Accounting or equivalent, at least two years of Australian accounting experience, and be comfortable with HandiSoft, Xero and MYOB. Visa sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting or commerce or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of Australian accounting and taxation experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns.
• Experience with companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Proficient with HandiSoft, Xero and MYOB.
• Strong knowledge of BAS and IAS and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare income tax returns for individuals, trusts, companies and partnerships.
• Prepare financial statements including P&L, balance sheets and cash flows.
• Prepare BAS/IAS and instalment statements for clients.
• Liaise with clients via email, phone and in person to gather information.
• Perform account reconciliations and advise on accounting adjustments.
• Assist with tax planning, business structures and client advisory matters.
• Work with senior accountants and team on client assignments and projects.
