Job summary

Pacific National, Australia's largest private rail freight operator, is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive new business across Australia from Melbourne or Sydney. Join our Intermodal Sales team and grow accounts through proactive outbound activity and relationship management.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development within transport or logistics.
• Ability to build relationships and convert leads into outcomes.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer engagement skills.
• CRM experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics.
• Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and outbound activity.
• Acquire new customers and reactivate dormant accounts, growing existing spend.
• Build and manage a sales pipeline from discovery through revenue generation.
• Develop strong customer relationships and tailor freight solutions.
• Maintain accurate records in CRM and collaborate with teams for onboarding.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Contribute to revenue, customer acquisition and activity targets for Intermodal growth.
