Job summary

One Playground in Sydney is seeking a Group Training Coordinator to uphold our award-winning program. You’ll ensure every instructor is supported, resources are sharp, and every class on the timetable delivers.

Working with the Head of Group Training and wider team, you’ll mentor instructors, build manuals and education, curate class formats, and help scale our ecosystem of premium training across studios.

Qualifications

• Strong background in group fitness with mentoring or leading instructors.

THE ROLE

As our Group Training Coordinator, you'll be the engine room behind one of the most celebrated class offerings in Australian fitness - making sure every instructor is supported, every resource is sharp, and every class on the timetable delivers.

Working side by side with our Head of Group Training and the wider team, you'll support the whole department, across multiple modalities within your wheelhouse. You'll help bring new instructors on board, mentor and develop our existing team, build the manuals and education that set our standard, and keep our schedule running like clockwork.

This is a hands‑on role with real variety: one day you're curating playlists and building a new instructor handbook, the next you're running a mentoring session, coordinating auditions or digging into class performance to work out what our members need next.

But this role is bigger than coordination. Every instructor you mentor and every resource you create shapes the experience thousands of members have in our studios every week. You'll be protecting the standards that make One Playground classes unlike anything else - and helping raise them.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Product - Shape Classes Members Can't Get Anywhere Else.

• Bring our training concepts to life through the handbooks, class plans and programming resources every instructor relies on.
• Build the education and learning pathways that turn great instructors into exceptional ones.
• Craft the soundtrack to the class experience - playlists that build energy, match every phase and leave members wanting more.
• Keep our Group Training manuals the gold standard across every modality.
• Have a hand in the next big thing, helping create new formats and products from the ground up.

People - Build the Most Inspiring Instructor Team in the Industry.

• Help find our next wave of instructor talent and give every candidate an audition experience worth remembering.
• Make sure every new instructor lands well, feels welcome and knows exactly what great looks like at One Playground.
• Be the mentor instructors turn to, helping them grow their craft through coaching, feedback and development.
• Bring the team together through workshops and education that lift the standard across every studio.
• Be a genuine ambassador for Group Training, celebrating best practice and spreading it across the business.

Performance - Make Every Class Count.

• Be the reason every class on the timetable runs - the right instructor, in the right studio, every time.
• Turn class data and member feedback into insights that make our classes better, month after month.
• Help every instructor keep growing through evaluations and check‑ins that actually move the needle.
• Shine a light on our superstars, celebrating standout performances through our monthly instructor newsletter and recognition initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this role:

• You live and breathe group training, and care deeply about what a great class feels like for a member.
• You get a genuine buzz from helping instructors grow and seeing them nail it.
• You're highly organised and proactive - nothing slips through the cracks on your watch.
• You communicate with clarity and warmth, whether it's written feedback, a mentoring session or a quick chat with a Club Manager.
• You're creative and curious, always looking for a better resource, format or way of doing things.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Not all experience is created equally. But the successful candidate would have a strong background in group fitness, ideally as an experienced instructor across one or more modalities, with a track record of mentoring, educating or leading other instructors. You may have stepped into a lead instructor, master trainer or studio coordinator role and are ready to take your passion for the craft to a department‑wide level.

Additional important experiences for consideration:

• Experience delivering or coordinating instructor education, onboarding or evaluations.
• Confident creating training content - manuals, presentations, class plans or online learning resources.
• Comfortable with scheduling and booking systems (Exerp, NetGym or similar) and quick to pick up new ones.
• A structured, detail‑focused approach to timetables, data and documentation.
• A genuine love of health, fitness & wellness.
