Job summary

Monash University is seeking a Group Manager, Education & Strategic Projects to lead education governance, policy implementation and large-scale transformation. You will advise on quality assurance, manage multiple workstreams, and act as deputy to the Faculty General Manager in driving strategic programs.

The role requires senior leadership experience in higher education, strong collaboration with academic and professional staff, and a postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic education projects, from scoping through to evaluation.
  • Partner with the Deputy Dean Education on curriculum transformation, student experience initiatives, and enrolment strategies.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement across academic, professional and executive communities.
  • Provide authoritative advice on education policy, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Lead a team, building capability and maintaining momentum across concurrent workstreams.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Faculty General Manager, the Group Manager provides high-level leadership for the Faculty's education governance, regulatory compliance, strategic planning and operational delivery. Serving as the principal deputy to the Faculty General Manager, this role acts as the primary adviser on academic policy implementation, quality assurance and large-scale transformation initiatives while leading key Faculty projects.

About You

You are an accomplished operational leader with a strong background in higher education governance, strategic program delivery and large-scale transformation. You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects in a higher education or similarly regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of curriculum governance frameworks and academic quality processes
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading or developing professional staff in a collaborative team setting
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
