Job summary

Capstone Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian Energy Infrastructure group for a Group FP&A Manager based in Sydney. You will oversee budgets, forecasts, long-term planning and executive reporting, partnering with the Director and senior leaders to drive strategic capital decisions.

You'll coach a high-performance FP&A team, implement robust processes, and deliver accurate financial analysis and governance across the group and divisions.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA/CFA qualification required.
• Extensive Group FP&A, corporate planning or commercial analysis experience in a large organisation.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial consolidation expertise.
• Advanced financial modelling and ERP/finance system experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Group FP&A: budgets, forecasts and long-term planning.
• Oversee group consolidation with internal controls.
• Deliver Group, Division and Board reporting with variance analysis and executive commentary.
• Lead scenario and what-if modelling for strategic decisions.
• Assess capex investments and forecasting against plan and regulatory outcomes.
• Coach FP&A team and drive data quality improvements.

The Role

Reporting to the Director, Group FP&A, you'll lead Group FP&A across budgets, forecasts, long-term planning and Executive and Board reporting. Working alongside the Executive, you'll challenge performance, influence how billions in capital are deployed and lead a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Group FP&A: budgets, forecasts, rolling outlooks and long‑term planning
• Oversee Group consolidation, ensuring accuracy, consistency and strong internal controls
• Deliver Group, Division and Board reporting with sharp variance analysis and clear executive commentary
• Lead scenario, sensitivity and what‑if modelling to support strategic and investment decisions
• Independently assess capital and operating investment proposals, and deliver capex reporting and forecasting against business plan and regulatory outcomes
• Partner with the Executive and senior leaders, providing commercial challenge, not just reporting
• Coach and develop the FP&A team while driving continuous improvement in processes, tools and data quality

• A proven record of influencing Executives through robust analysis, credible challenge and clear communication
• Demonstrated people leadership, with experience coaching and building high‑performing team
