Job summary

The Making Corporation is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead day-to-day financial management for a privately owned construction and property business with a long-standing regional presence. The role reports to the CEO and Group CFO and will guide accounting, cashflow reporting, payroll, and governance.

Qualifications

The Making Corporation has been exclusively engaged to appoint a Group Financial Controller to a privately owned, award-winning construction and property business with a proud multi-decade legacy across South East Queensland.

The role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Group CFO, you will own the day-to-day financial management, accounting, cashflow reporting, payroll management and operational governance of the finance function, leading a small team of finance support and administration staff.

Your remit spans month-end close, full P&L oversight, balance sheet and cash flow management; budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling across project pipelines; internal controls, statutory compliance and audit readiness; and commercial partnering with project managers, construction and development teams to inform decision-making as the pipeline grows.

About you

You are CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of ten years' post-qualification financial management experience, and a strong preference will be given to candidates with a background in construction, property development or building. You bring depth in financial reporting, statutory compliance and audit management, experience leading a small team and driving process improvement, and ideally exposure to multi-entity structures.
