Job summary

Design & Build—an established Australian business with national operations—seeks a commercially minded Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Leadership Team. You will partner with the CEO to influence strategy, strengthen performance and prepare the organisation for the next growth phase.

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow and governance across multiple entities, driving profitability and transformation initiatives with strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a CFO or commercially focused senior finance leadership role, with turnover of $50mil upwards.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) | Executive Leadership | National Business

An established Australian business with national operations (related to the construction industry) is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Leadership Team.

This is far more than a traditional finance role. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll become a trusted commercial partner responsible for strengthening business performance, improving financial outcomes and helping prepare the organisation for its next stage of growth. A future corporate transaction is being considered, making this an exciting opportunity to have genuine strategic influence.

About the Opportunity

This is a highly visible executive position where you'll work across every part of the business-not just the finance function.

You'll partner closely with operational leaders to understand what drives performance, influence commercial decisions and provide the financial insight required to support sustainable growth.

Success in this role will come from your ability to move seamlessly between boardroom strategy and operational execution.

About You

We're looking for a commercially focused finance executive who enjoys being embedded within the business.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience in a CFO or commercially focused senior finance leadership role, with experience across organisations with a turnover of $50mil upwards
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence operational performance.
• Experience managing banking relationships, funding and debt facilities.
• An industry background in construction / infrastructure / logistics is advantageous
• A track record of improving profitability and business performance.
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and strategic planning capability.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, from operational teams through to Boards and financiers.
• Experience across multi-entity organisations.
• Exposure to business transformation, acquisition or sale readiness will be highly regarded.
