Job summary

Anglican Diocesan Services (ADS) seeks an experienced Group Manager Finance Operations in Canberra to lead financial accounting, transactional finance, treasury, taxation, audit and internal controls. You will drive governance, sustainability and continuous improvement, reporting to the CFO.

You will oversee multiple entities, guide a high-performing team and partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights and robust financial stewardship in a dynamic not-for-profit

Qualifications

• Senior leadership across financial accounting, control and transactional finance or shared services.
• Track record building high performing finance teams delivering operational services.
• Strong expertise in Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting and consolidations.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, financial statements, consolidated reporting and balance sheet integrity across all entities.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts payable and transactional finance, establishing clear service standards and performance measures.
• Strengthen financial controls, policies, delegations and risk management practices, including appropriate segregation of duties.
• Coordinate external audits, statutory reporting and taxation compliance, including GST, FBT and payroll tax.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, working capital, banking relationships and treasury activities.
• Lead, mentor and develop finance staff, building a collaborative, accountable and customer-focused team.
• Drive financial systems improvements, automation and process standardisation while maintaining data integrity and information security controls.
• Prepare financial reports and advice for executives, the Board and governance committees, and support budgeting, forecasting, business cases and strategic initiatives.
