Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Manager, Group Cyber Defence to lead policy recommendations, incident management, and risk intelligence enhancements for the Group. This role drives security strategy, governance and assurance across the cyber programme for the aviation group.

You will collaborate with business and technology teams, aligning priorities with regulatory and industry standards while delivering sustainable risk management and control assurance across the Group.

Qualifications

• Strong background in cyber security and technology risk.
• Experience owning enterprise security platforms in BAU environments.
• Knowledge of API security, DNS, and OWASP standards.
• Ability to translate risk into business impact and actions.
• Experience in regulated environments such as aviation or finance.

Responsibilities

• Shape 1–3 year Cyber Defence strategy for assigned controls.
• Build partnerships across business, technology, and vendors.
• Govern Cyber Defence controls, risks and performance with cost awareness.
• Lead industry benchmarking and communicate security needs to leadership.
