Job summary

LDK Seniors Living Amberfield village in Weston, Canberra seeks a motivated Groundsperson (Gardener) to maintain premium gardens and outdoor spaces for residents and visitors. You will work with the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Assistant to keep the gardens in top condition and contribute to a welcoming, resort‑style environment.

The role prioritises attention to detail, safe horticultural practices and timely planning of gardening activities.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in horticulture, gardening and/or landscaping (desirable).
• First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Demonstrated experience in gardening, preferably in an aged care environment.
• Experience planning and managing gardening activities in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain garden spaces within Amberfield village.
• Enhance presentation and minimize waste/damage to property.
• Carry out gardening activities with efficient time management.
• Monitor stock levels of consumables and re-order as required.
• Comply with WHS requirements.
• Attend to administrative duties to ensure record keeping.
• Engage positively with residents, guests and staff.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Groundsperson (Gardener) with an interest in horticulture, gardening and/or landscaping to help ensure that our 5‑star premium village is kept at a high standard of presentation for all residents and guests to enjoy. Working alongside the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Assistant, the Groundsperson will take responsibility for all garden spaces within our 5‑star, premium built Amberfield village, with a keen eye for detail and care to help these beautiful spaces thrive. Role Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a long‑term plan for the Amberfield village gardens.
• Enhance presentation, minimise green waste and damage to property.
• Carry out gardening activities with efficiency and effective time management, keeping in mind minimal interference to residents and guests.
• Monitor stock levels of consumables and follow process for re‑ordering where required.
• Comply with all work, health and safety requirements.
• Attend to administrative duties associated with tasks to ensure accurate record keeping.
• Engage in positive interactions with residents, guests and fellow colleagues.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Qualifications in horticulture, gardening and/or landscaping (desirable)
• First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Demonstrated experience in undertaking gardening duties, preferably in an aged care environment
• Experience in planning and managing gardening activities in a timely manner
