Job Description

The Grounds & Turf Wicket Officer is responsible for safely and effectively delivering both planned and responsive maintenance across turf wickets, grounds, gardens, play areas, car parks, and other outdoor spaces across Carey Baptist Grammar School campuses.

Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor – Bulleen, this role suits someone who enjoys hands-on, outdoor work and thrives in a collaborative team environment. While primarily based at the Bulleen campus, the role will also provide support across other campuses as required.

This is a permanent, full-time position.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of high-quality turf wickets and grounds
• Maintain grassed areas, gardens, and playground spaces (including soft fall surfaces)
• Support the setup of school sporting activities and events
• Assist with machinery, building, and general maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders, undertaking other duties as required
  

What do I need to succeed?

• Qualification (or working towards a qualification) in Turf Management, Horticulture or equivalent relevant experience
• Previousexperienceinthepracticesandprocessesinvolvedinannualplanninganddeliveryof turf wicket and sports field cultural/nutrition programs
• Groundsandturfwicketmaintenanceexperiencewithinmajorfacilitiesishighlydesirable
• Experienceinthesafeoperationofplantandequipmentrequiredtoundertakeallmaintenance tasks
• Willingnesstoworkoutdoorsinvariousweatherconditions,includingheat,cold,rain,andthe sun
• Abilitytoliftandcarryheavyobjects,bend,squat,kneel,andstandforextendedperiods
