Job summary

Oak Tree Retirement Villages Victoria Point in Queensland seeks a part-time Grounds / Maintenance Assistant to support the Village Manager. The role covers grounds upkeep, waste management, and basic repairs to keep the village safe and welcoming for residents.

You will perform mowing, edging, weeding, watering, general tidying, and assist with maintenance tasks and setting up community spaces. Candidates should have grounds maintenance experience, be able to operate light equipment, and hold

Responsibilities

• Grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, trimming/pruning.
• Seasonal spraying, top dressing and fertilizing of lawns as required.
• General tidying of the village (whipper snipping, hedging, weed control).
• Watering of lawns and gardens as required.
• Disposal of garden waste and waste management for the village.
• Cleaning of waste disposal bins and support maintenance schedules.
• Set up and reconfiguration of Community Centre for Oak Tree events.
• Assist Village Manager with operations, marketing and sales activities.

About the role:

You will report to theVillage Manager and will be required to provide assistance to the village to create a welcoming, caring, and safe village community. This role is part-time working 30 hours (Monday-Friday).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Grounds / Maintenance Role

• Ground maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, trimming/pruning.
• Seasonal spraying, top dressing and fertilizing of lawns (as required).
• General tidying of the village (whipper snipping, hedging, weed control)
• Watering of lawns and gardens as required.
• Disposal of garden waste.
• Waste management for the village (including garbage and recycle collection).
• Cleaning of waste disposal bins.
• Support the planned maintenance schedule for the village i.e pressure cleaning, gutter cleaning, garden mulching as required.
• General repairs and maintenance as required.

Other Duties

• Set up and reconfiguration of the Community Centre to support Oak Tree events.
• Other such irregular duties as may be required to assist the Village Manager in the operations, marketing and sales activities of the village.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is used when required
