Ingenia Communities is recruiting a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer for Cairns Coconut Holidays. You will maintain garden areas and ensure a clean, safe, welcoming environment for guests at the Cairns site.

The role involves responsible maintenance tasks, basic repairs, and responding to guest requests. A current C-class driver license and a hands-on, safety‑minded approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with groundskeeping, garden maintenance, and basic site upkeep.
• Ability to perform general repairs and operate common maintenance tools.
• Knowledge of site safety procedures and chemical handling is desirable.
• Hold a current “C” class driver license.

Responsabilités

• Maintain garden areas: pruning, weeding, fertilising, replanting, mulching, hedging, mowing and edging.
• Keep grounds clean and safe: clear debris, collect bins, spray weeds/pests, maintain pool areas.
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance: tools, equipment, lighting, fixtures, fencing, BBQs, painting.

We’re on the lookout for a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team at our Cairns CoconutHolidayssite.

Reporting to the Park Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping the park looking beautiful, safe, and welcoming — ensuring guests enjoy a clean, well‑maintained environment every day.

In this Role, You’ll

• Maintain all garden areas through pruning, weeding, fertilising, replanting, mulching, hedging, mowing and edging.
• Keep grounds clean and safe by clearing debris, collecting bins, spraying for weeds/pests, and maintaining pool areas (if applicable).
• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including tools, equipment, lighting, fixtures, fencing, BBQs and basic painting.
• Respond to resident/guest maintenance requests, provide feedback on contractor work, and elevate issues to trades when needed.
• Support site presentation and security by reporting damage or incidents and accurately logging all maintenance and repair activities.
