Job summary

Catholic Schools Office Maitland - Newcastle – Gateshead NSW is seeking a part-time Groundsperson to maintain the school grounds and buildings. The role requires carrying out maintenance tasks with limited supervision and supporting a safe, welcoming school environment commencing January 2027.

The person will manage maintenance activities, ensure WHS compliance, and support the Catholic ethos of the school in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

Ability to articulate a clear commitment to Catholic Education and actively supporting the Catholic ethos of the school.
Demonstrated experience performing maintenance tasks unsupervised.
Demonstrated ability to manage the school's maintenance program.
Experience in maintaining school grounds and buildings or similar.
Experience or willingness to comply with relevant security provisions.
Demonstrated understanding of current Work Health and Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain and upkeep school grounds and buildings to a safe, tidy, and functional standard.
Assist in planning and coordinating the school's maintenance program.
Undertake routine maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
Uphold Work Health and Safety compliance in daily duties.
