Job summary

Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong is seeking a School Support Officer - Maintenance/Outdoor in Narellan, NSW. The position is temporary part-time for 55 hours per fortnight, commencing 9 November 2026 until 29 January 2027, with 5 days per week (Monday to Friday, 9:30am–3:30pm).

Responsibilities include general maintenance of buildings and grounds, inspections, coordinating with external contractors, and assisting staff to minimise disruption to school activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with students, parents and staff with a cooperative approach.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in upkeep tasks.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices.

Responsibilities

• General building and grounds maintenance (painting, patching, basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical).
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of school facilities.
• Liaise and coordinate with external contractors for repairs and installations.
• Work with school staff to address maintenance issues and minimise disruption to activities.
• Emergency cleaning when required.
• Close/open the school, manage alarms and gates.
• Oversee maintenance of gardens and lawns.
• Other duties as directed by the Principal.
