Job summary

Randstad in Queensland is seeking a hands-on Grounds Maintenance Officer to perform ground-based pruning, tree removals, mulching and planting in road reserves and parks. You will safely operate tools and maintain fleet items up to 15t GVM, inspect sites for hazards, and apply pest control formulations to manage pests and diseases.

The role requires a White Card, a horticulture/arboriculture qualification, and a valid MR Class Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid).

Qualifications

• Certificate III Horticulture or Certificate II Arboriculture (with tree experience).
• MR Class Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid).
• White Card - Building and Construction Industry Certification Level 1.
• Operate and Maintain Chainsaw certification.
• Chainsaw Fall Trees Manually (Intermediate) accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations: Perform ground-based pruning, tree removals, mulching, and planting in road reserves and parks.
• Equipment Management: Safely operate and maintain a range of industry tools and fleet items up to 15t GVM.
• Park Stewardship: Inspect sites for hazards like sharps or vandalism and ensure areas are left clean and safe for the public.
• Technical Applications: Prepare and apply pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide formulations to manage pests and diseases.

Education

Certificate III Horticulture or Certificate II Arboriculture (with tree experience)

MR Class Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid)

White Card - Building and Construction Industry Certification Level 1

Operate and Maintain Chainsaw certification
