Job summary

Aussie Choice Trade Pty Ltd T/A The Countryman Café Restaurant and Bar in Narromine, NSW is seeking a qualified Chef and Cook to prepare high-quality steakhouse and grill dishes, lead kitchen operations and ensure consistent presentation.

You will manage staff, monitor stock, uphold food safety standards and collaborate across the cafe, restaurant and bar team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have solid knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, grilling and meat preparation.
• Ability to execute and present menu items accurately, with attention to quality and presentation.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred (1–2 years).
• Qualifications in commercial cookery or equivalent are required, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Cook diverse menu items and complete meals in line with recipes and standards.
• Assist in menu planning, development and cost control for profitability and consistency.
• Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure high standards.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, including rostering and staff development.
• Ensure health, safety and hygiene compliance and proper stock management.
