Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited, via Independent Brands Australia (IBA), invites a creative Graphic Designer to join our Macquarie Park team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. You’ll deliver engaging design solutions across digital and print channels, collaborating with marketing and content teams.

Based in Sydney’s Macquarie Park, the role offers a flexible schedule with 3 days in the office per week, allowing strong balance between creativity and lifestyle.

Qualifications

• 2+ years graphic design experience in retail or similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or Visual Communication.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

About the Opportunity

Join a dynamic and supportive creative team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. As the Graphic Designer, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging design solutions across a variety of digital and print channels. Based at our Macquarie Park office, you’ll collaborate with passionate stakeholders and contribute to exciting brand projects in a fast-paced environment. This role offers a flexible 3 days per week in office, providing the opportunity to balance creativity with lifestyle. You’ll be part of a fun, close-knit team who genuinely enjoy what they do and take pride in producing high-quality work.

In this Role

• Create visually appealing and effective designs for a wide range of digital and print materials
• Ensure that all design assets align with the established brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in typography, colour schemes, and design elements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content creators, and developers, to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions
• Create designs optimised for various digital platforms and devices, ensuring a seamless user experience and engaging visual content.
• Prepare print-ready files, liaise with print vendors, and oversee the production process to ensure the final print materials meet quality standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy.

You’re Likely a Match If

• 2 + year’s graphic design experience in a similar role, preferably retail.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software, with a focus on Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.
• Outstanding time management skills with the ability to handle high workloads and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, as well as adaptability to changing project requirements.
