Job summary

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a highly organised Grants and Funding Manager to build and lead the grants function. This role reports to the CFO and partners with executives to identify funding, coordinate high-quality submissions and ensure compliance across funding agreements.

You will drive opportunities across Commonwealth, State and philanthropic sources, maintain governance frameworks and deliver strategic reports on performance and risk.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing grant programs from application through acquittals.
  • Proven experience preparing high-quality grant submissions and funding proposals.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written communication with attention to detail.
  • Experience budgeting and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor Commonwealth, State and philanthropic funding opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a grants pipeline and funding calendar.
  • Lead end-to-end grant application processes from opportunity to submission.
  • Prepare compelling grant applications, budgets and supporting docs.
  • Coordinate grant reporting, financial acquittals and compliance with funding agreements.
  • Develop and maintain grant registers, reporting systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Coordinate Policy and Procedure review framework and document control processes.
  • Manage Partnership Agreements and MOUs registers and renewals.
  • Provide strategic reporting to the Executive Management Team on funding opportunities, risks and performance.
  • Build relationships with government agencies, funding bodies and internal stakeholders.

Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (Derbarl) is one of Western Australia's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, delivering culturally safe, high-quality primary health care services to Aboriginal people across the Perth metropolitan area.

We are seeking a highly organised and strategic Grants and Funding Manager to establish and lead our grants and funding function. This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced grants professional to make a meaningful contribution by securing funding that supports the delivery of essential health services and drives organisational growth.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will work closely with the Executive Management Team, Finance and Program Managers to identify funding opportunities, coordinate high-quality grant submissions, oversee compliance and reporting, and strengthen organisational governance through policy coordination.

About the Role

As the Grants and Funding Manager, you will:

  • Identify and monitor Commonwealth, State and philanthropic funding opportunities.
  • Develop and manage an organisation-wide grants pipeline and funding calendar.
  • Lead end-to-end grant application processes, from opportunity identification through to submission.
  • Prepare compelling grant applications, budgets and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate grant reporting, financial acquittals and compliance with funding agreements.
  • Develop and maintain grant registers, reporting systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Coordinate the organisation's Policy and Procedure review framework and document control processes.
  • Manage Partnership Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding registers and renewal processes.
  • Provide strategic reporting and advice to the Executive Management Team on funding opportunities, risks and performance.
  • Build strong relationships with government agencies, funding bodies and internal stakeholders to maximise funding success.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Project Management, Health or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing grant programs from application through to reporting and acquittals.
  • Proven experience preparing high-quality grant submissions and funding proposals.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience developing project budgets and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
  • The ability to build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Experience within the not-for-profit, health, government or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sectors will be highly regarded.
