Job summary

The Shire of Campaspe in Echuca seeks a Grants Acquisition Officer to identify, develop and secure grant funding opportunities that support Council’s strategic priorities, advocacy objectives and long‑term financial sustainability.

You will manage the grants application process, coordinate acquittals and reporting, collaborate with departments and external partners to maximise funding success, and maintain grant registers across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in a related field with relevant experience or substantial experience in the field.
  • Significant experience in writing grant submissions.
  • Strong computer skills and competency using Microsoft products; ability to adapt to other software.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, promote and coordinate grant funding opportunities that align with Council’s priorities.
  • Manage the grants application process, including tracking progress and reporting.
  • Collaborate with teams to research, develop and submit grant applications.
  • Maintain grant registers and oversee grant-related activities across the organisation.
  • Support funding submissions for major Council projects.

Tenure: Part time / permanent
FTE: 22.8 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
Location: Echuca
Remuneration: $49.17 to $53.60 per hour + superannuation & leave loading

Council is seeking a Grants Acquisition Officer to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop and secure grant funding opportunities that support Council’s strategic priorities, advocacy objectives and long-term financial sustainability.

About the Role
The Grants Acquisition Officer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, promote and coordinate grant funding opportunities that align with Council’s strategic priorities, advocacy objectives and financial plans.
  • Manage the grants application process, including tracking progress, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and coordinating acquittals and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operational teams and subject matter experts to research, develop and submit high-quality grant, funding and award applications.
  • Maintain grant registers and provide oversight of grant-related activities across the organisation.
  • Support the delivery of major Council projects through the preparation of funding submissions, reports and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of grant frameworks, policies and processes to maximise funding success.
  • Coordinate Letters of Support and other grant-related correspondence for community groups and external stakeholders.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree or Diploma in a related field with relevant experience or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience or extensive relevant experience in the field.
  • Significant experience in writing grant submissions.
  • Strong computer skills and competency using Microsoft products with the ability to adapt quickly to other software programs.
  • A valid Driver’s Licence.
  • A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
