Job summary

KeyMoves in Melbourne’s south-east invites a Graduate Lawyer to join its Commercial Litigation team. You’ll be mentored by a senior practitioner and gain hands-on exposure to a broad range of disputes including commercial leasing, franchising and construction.

You will develop drafting, file management and client communication skills, working alongside barristers. As you grow, you’ll progress to running your own matters in a supportive, suburban mid-tier firm.

Qualifications

• Interest in commercial litigation with solid grasp of legal fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience through clerkship, paralegal work or graduate program is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a range of commercial dispute matters, including leasing, franchising, and construction.
• Drafting, file management and client communications under supervision.

Our client, a well-regarded suburban firm in Melbourne's south-east, is looking for a Graduate Lawyer to join its busy Commercial Litigation team. Work volumes have grown recently, and the firm is ready to invest in someone at the start of their career.

The team and what you'll learn

About you

• Admitted (or about to be admitted) to practice, with 0–2 years' post-admission experience

• An interest in commercial litigation and a solid grasp of legal fundamentals

• Some exposure to litigation, whether through clerkship, paralegal work, a graduate program or prior employment

• Strong written and verbal communication, with good client-facing skills

• Sound interpersonal skills and comfort with electronic file management systems

• Interest in developing business development and marketing skills over time

• Looking to start or continue your career in suburban practice at a mid-tier firm

• Able to provide a copy of your university transcript with your application
