JM Consulting seeks a commercial litigation lawyer to join a well-regarded mid-tier firm in Melbourne or Sydney. The role offers exposure to a broad range of disputes and the opportunity to work with experienced senior lawyers on complex matters.

You will be involved across the lifecycle of matters, including pleadings, submissions and correspondence, briefing counsel, and managing discovery. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years PQE in commercial litigation with strong drafting and client-facing

Qualifications

• 1–3 years PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution.
• Experience in private practice handling commercial litigation matters.
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills.
• Experience with pleadings, evidence and court processes.

The Opportunity

The team advises on a broad range of commercial disputes, which may include:

• Corporate and shareholder disputes
• Director-related disputes
• Insolvency and restructuring disputes
• Recovery and enforcement proceedings
• Urgent and interlocutory applications
• Court proceedings, mediations and negotiated settlements

You will be involved across the lifecycle of matters, including preparing pleadings and evidence, drafting submissions and correspondence, briefing counsel, managing discovery, liaising with clients and contributing to litigation strategy.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Approximately 1-3 years' PQE in commercial litigation or dispute resolution
• Experience working on commercial litigation matters in private practice
• Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
• Experience with pleadings, evidence and court processes
• The ability to manage matters and competing deadlines with appropriate supervision
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
