Job summary

SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an entry-level HAZMAT Consultant to join our Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials team in Sydney. This full-time role offers a chance to work with a local team while collaborating with colleagues nationwide.

You will gain hands-on experience with asbestos inspections, air monitoring, sampling plans and exposure assessments, with training and development supported by SLR. Occasional regional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel regularly and adapt with flexible work arrangements (regional travel).
• Resource and/or heavy industry exposure or related study.
• Valid driver's license (C class manual advantageous).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
• Interest in OHHM with commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Asbestos Clearance Inspections.
• Asbestos Inspections, Sampling and Surveying.
• Asbestos Air Monitoring and Fibre Counting (with training provided).
• Occupational exposure monitoring for hazards (dust, noise, chemicals).
• Develop sampling plans.
• Respirator and hearing protection fit testing.
• Reviewing sample data and entering it into databases.
• Conducting field task observations.
• Providing data for technical reports and proposals.
• Regional travel will be required.
