Blacktown City Council invites graduates to start mid-February 2027 as a Graduate in Finance, gaining hands-on experience across budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis within a large local government.

You will rotate through finance functions, build records, respond to enquiries, prepare summaries, and contribute to decision‑making while enjoying a full‑time term contract, flextime and a starting salary of 1,750.90 AUD per week.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field completed by start date or within last 2 years.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with budgeting, reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis.
• Maintain financial records and process transactions; investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare reports and financial summaries; respond to inquiries and help improve processes.
• Support planning, service delivery and decision-making across the council's finance functions.
