Job summary

Australian Country Choice (ACC) offers a two-year Graduate - Feedlot Trainee Managers program based at Opal Creek and Brindley Park in Queensland. The program provides hands-on learning across livestock handling, animal nutrition, maintenance and administration within our large-scale feedlots, with rotations and formal/informal training.

Successful graduates gain practical experience and leadership development, with opportunities to progress into frontline management as openings arise.

Qualifications

• Understanding of livestock production systems.
• Leadership aspirations and ability to demonstrate management potential.
• Attention to detail and sound numeracy.
• Positive team players.
• A passion for livestock and a commitment to best practice animal welfare.
• The ability to learn and apply principles of quality, compliance and regulations including food safety, animal welfare, work health & safety.
• Flexibility to work 10/4 roster that includes weekends.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound computer literacy.
• Current driver's licence.
• Hands-on cattle handling knowledge is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Rotations in key feedlot areas to gain practical experience across operations.
• Two-year program with rotations and on-the-job training in livestock, nutrition, maintenance and administration.
• Exposure to industry specialists and leadership development opportunities.
• Progression toward front-line management roles upon successful completion.
