Job summary

The Bloomfield Group seeks a proactive environmental graduate for a site-based role at Rix's Creek near Singleton to support environmental obligations. You will help implement management systems, monitor compliance and assist with reporting and approvals.

Ideal candidates hold tertiary qualifications in environmental disciplines, with some exposure to mining environmental management, strong analytical and communication skills, and a readiness to grow in a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability and Development, or other relevant environmental disciplines.
• Some relevant industry experience or exposure to environmental management.
• Commitment to developing skills in environmental management and mining.
• Sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory responsibilities.
• Understanding of mining operations and environmental risks and impacts.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support site operations to meet environmental obligations and promote responsible practices.
• Assist in implementing and improving environmental management systems, standards and procedures.
• Coordinate and support monitoring programs in line with licences and statutory requirements.
• Assist with collection, analysis and reporting of monitoring data.
• Support compliance activities including inspections, audits and investigations.
• Assist in preparing statutory, regulatory and company environmental reports.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining environmental approvals, permits and licences.
• Support development and implementation of environmental risk and hazard controls.
• Assist planning and monitoring rehabilitation and mine closure activities.
• Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation.
• Support engagement with regulators, government agencies, contractors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to environmental improvement projects across the operation.
