Job summary

The Bloomfield Group is hiring Open-Cut Coal Mine Operators to join the Rix’s Creek Mine near Singleton, NSW. You will operate a range of large earthmoving equipment and contribute to safety and production targets with a strong safety mindset.

Key duties include pre-start checks, coordinating with maintenance and engineering, maintaining housekeeping standards, and working as part of a team on a Monday–Friday night shift roster. A current NSW driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating open-cut coal mining equipment (e.g., excavator, loader, dozer).
• Proven ability to operate at least two heavy machines safely.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence is essential.

OPEN-CUT COAL MINE OPERATORS (Rix's Creek Mine)

About the role

The Bloomfield Group is looking for operators to work at its Rix’s Creek Mine. Operators are responsible for supporting the achievement of safety and production targets by taking personal responsibility for managing themselves and undertaking all work in a safe and effective manner utilising relevant skills and competencies. The successful applicants will operate a range of large earthmoving equipment which may include excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, blast hole drills, and dump trucks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective & efficient operation of heavy mining equipment in line with procedures & operational requirements
• Ensure reasonable targets are met with safety as the priority
• Perform pre-start inspections of machinery and necessary documentation as per operational requirements
• Communicate to production and engineering employees on maintenance, break down issues, and any problems that arise, and work as a team to develop an appropriate course of action
• Demonstrate excellent housekeeping and equipment care and encourage others to maintain housekeeping standards
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
• Multi-skilled operator with experience operating at least two of the following pieces of equipment - dump truck, excavator, dozer, loader, grader, and drill
• Experience as an Open Cut Mine Operator in an open cut coal mine
• Proven ability to build proactive relationships and to work as part of a team
• Willingness to work a Monday to Friday night shift roster.
• Current NSW Driver’s License
• Experience operating Excavator, Loaders, or Dozers
