Job summary

IBM is hiring an Associate Application Developer in Sydney to co-create solutions for clients using best practice technologies and IBM platforms. You will translate system requirements into design and development of customized systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams on generative AI projects.

You will work across architectures, employing modern databases and UI frameworks, and apply Design Thinking to deliver performant, secure products. A degree in IT or CS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Demonstrated programming proficiency in Java, Python, SQL or similar, plus systems design/development coursework.
• Exposure to web services and Java frameworks such as Springboot.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with generative AI modeling, ethics, and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, Google Cloud).
• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to design, develop, and support scalable products and interfaces.
• Define technical specs for generative AI projects with cross-functional teams.
• Apply IBM Design Thinking to deliver high-performance, secure, and user-friendly solutions.
• Work with relational databases and modern UI frameworks to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Create mockups, UI components, algorithms and data structures for viable products.
