Job summary

Chart Industries is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support Senior Application Engineers, Project Managers and Design Engineers in developing technical and commercial proposals for fans and ventilation systems in Australia. You will rotate through key departments to apply academic knowledge to real projects and contribute to proposal quality and cost estimates.

You will gain hands-on experience in proposal timing, quoting major components, QA-compliant documentation, and supporting commissioning

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in engineering (mechanical/mining/aeronautical) within the last 12 months or due within 6 months.
• Proficiency with drafting and 3D modelling software (AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills.
• Knowledge of rotating machinery applications is advantageous.
• Well-developed analytical and research skills.
• Demonstrates a professional attitude.
• Ability to think proactively and solve problems independently.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• High level organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers and sales in developing technical and commercial proposals.
• Assist project managers in day-to-day activities for turnkey projects.
• Assist design engineers in project engineering and continuous improvement.
• Rotate through key departments (Engineering, Project Management, Service) where possible.
• Ensure proposals meet bid deadlines and customer requirements.
• Develop technical justification and cost estimates for proposed equipment.
• Specify and procure quotes from external sub-vendors to prepare proposals.
• Maintain proposal documentation to QA standards and comply with company policies.
• Provide technical support for commissioning activities.
• Adhere to Chart Industries values and health and safety requirements.
