Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. in NSW, Australia is seeking a Graduate Engineer to contribute by applying engineering knowledge to proposals for fans and ventilation systems, and to support senior engineers and project managers on turnkey projects.

You will rotate through the engineering and service teams, use AutoCAD/Inventor, and develop costed technical justifications while maintaining QA-compliant proposal documents and upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering related discipline (mechanical/mining/aeronautical) within the last 12 months or expected to graduate within the next 6 months.
• Proficiency with drafting and 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent.
• Strong MS Excel and MS Word skills.
• Knowledge of rotating machinery applications is advantageous.
• Well developed analytical and research skills.
• Demonstrates a professional attitude.
• Ability to think proactively and independently solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions.
• Well-developed communication skills written and oral.
• High level organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously in a team environment and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proposals are submitted by the bid due date and submission of subsequent technical clarifications meets customer requirements.
• Apply academic learning to the workplace environment.
• Development of technical justification for proposed equipment including the offer of alternative proposals. Apply product to customers system and advise on improvements that are possible.
• Specify and procure quotes for major, technically compliant, cost effective items via external sub-vendors to prepare comprehensive proposals and accurate cost estimates.
• Maintain proposal documentation in line with company procedures and policy to ensure compliance with QA standards.
• Ensure Company policies, procedures and norms are followed for all proposals activities to ensure the highest level of quality.
• Provide technical support for commissioning activities.
