Job summary

CMC Markets is launching its Technology Development Graduate Program in Sydney's Barangaroo office. The 16-month contract starts Sep/Oct 2026 after degree completion.

You will join an engineering squad, building a foundation in enterprise software and AI-native projects within trading technology. From day one, you’ll contribute to Agile delivery, BAU development, and production support, then progress into AI-focused work and emerging technologies, gaining hands-on experience in financial

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Having recently graduated in 2026 (you would need to have completed your degree to be eligible for our Graduate Program).
• A willingness to experiment, learn and iterate.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• A passion for programming and a keen interest in Financial Services, trading technology.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia permanently.

Responsibilities

• Embed within an established engineering squad as a contributing software engineer.
• Contribute to day to day Agile delivery, BAU development and production support while building practical experience across the CMC trading platform, SDLC, engineering standards and regulated software development.
• Develop technical capability and financial markets knowledge before progressing into AI-native engineering.
• As foundations develop, work on real AI projects and experiment with emerging technologies.
• Explore AI projects and AI governance, including data engineering and knowledge bases.
