The Aquarium offers a Graduate & Early Career Technology Program in Sydney with a 12-month initial contract and potential to extend or convert to permanent. The program covers AI, Financial Crime, Networks and technology-enabled environments, with structured training and mentoring.

Location: Sydney – Hybrid, 2–3 days in office. We seek graduates from 2024/25 or those graduating in 2026 who are keen to start a career in technology and collaborate across technical and business teams.

Qualifications

  • A recent university graduate from 2024, 2025 or graduating in 2026.

  • A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with technical and business teams.
  • Curious, adaptable and comfortable learning new concepts.
  • Analytical, organised and able to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI, automation and data solutions to detect, prevent and investigate financial crime.
  • Work alongside AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Financial Crime specialists.
  • Exposure to Python, AI/ML, Data Analytics, Automation or Generative AI.
  • Exposure to AML, KYC, CTF, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring or Sanctions through study, internships or employment.
  • Support enterprise network environments through troubleshooting, changes and incident resolution.
  • Understand networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.

  • Work alongside AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Financial Crime specialists.
  • Develop AI, automation and data solutions to detect, prevent and investigate financial crime.
  • Exposure to Python, AI/ML, Data Analytics, Automation or Generative AI.
  • Exposure to AML, KYC, CTF, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring or Sanctions through study, internships or employment.
Networks
  • Support enterprise network environments through troubleshooting, changes and incident resolution.
  • Gain exposure to switches, routers, firewalls and monitoring platforms.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.

Suitable Backgrounds Degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Networks & Infrastructure, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Finance or a related discipline.
