Job summary

RSM Australia in Merredin is looking for a graduate in 2027 to begin an accounting career with local experts. You will work on year-end financial statements for clients ranging from ASX-listed entities to small family businesses, applying Australian accounting and auditing standards.

You will also handle income tax, GST/BAS returns, and superannuation fund creation and compliance, building strong communication and detail orientation while working autonomously and in a team.

Qualifications

• Business/Commerce degree with Accounting major completed or near completion.
• Graduation expected by December 2026.

About the role:

Merredin is the largest regional centre in the eastern Wheatbelt. Our office in Merredin is located a short walk from the railway station and close to the town centre which boasts a good selection of cafes and restaurants. When the work day is done, explore some of the many nearby national parks including the Avon Valley National Park, Walyunga National Park and the John Forrest National Park.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of year end financial statements for various companies and trusts ranging from those listed on the ASX to small family owned businesses;
• Compliance with regulatory standards and preparing reports in line with the Australian accounting and auditing standards;
• Preparation of income tax returns, FBT returns, GST returns, BAS; and
• Superannuation Fund creation, Superannuation Fund compliance and Superannuation wealth creation and pension strategies.

About you:

Education Requirements:

Essential

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
• Prior completion of studies or scheduled to complete tertiary studies by December 2026
