Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Government Sales Director - Software to lead and expand our strategic relationship with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and associated partners. This is a highly visible commercial role focused on driving growth, developing new business opportunities, and increasing GE Aerospace's footprint across a portfolio of complex aviation software solutions, including software, digital products, technology-enabled offerings, consulting-led engagements, and development-based solutions.

The Government Sales Director will own the overall account growth strategy and serve as the senior commercial leader responsible for business development, capture leadership, pipeline expansion, strategic relationship development, and deal closure. This role requires a proven seller who can identify mission-aligned opportunities, shape complex pursuits, and win business involving multi-element offerings that may include software platforms, technical services, consulting, integration, solution development, and other technology-driven capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in government sales, software, strategic account leadership, capture management, and complex deal execution, particularly in environments where solutions are not purely off-the-shelf, but require consultative selling, tailored solution development, cross-functional coordination, and long-cycle deal leadership. This individual will operate across a broad stakeholder landscape, building strong relationships with procurement, contracting, technical, operational, and executive decision-makers while partnering internally across commercial, product, engineering, consulting, and proposal teams to develop and win differentiated solutions.

  • Identify, qualify, shape, and close new business opportunities across a portfolio of complex offerings, including software, digital solutions, consulting services, technical development efforts, and integrated technology-enabled capabilities.
  • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with stakeholders across procurement, contracting, program leadership, operational leadership, and technical organizations to position GE Aerospace for future wins.
  • Develop and execute capture strategies, pursuit plans, and win strategies aligned to customer priorities, acquisition timelines, and business objectives.
  • Drive proactive account planning to identify whitespace, funding pathways, upcoming procurements, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Lead customer engagements that require consultative selling, helping define customer needs and shape solutions that may combine product, service, consulting, and development components.
  • Partner with product, engineering, consulting, and solution teams to craft tailored value propositions and solution strategies aligned to FAA mission needs and operational priorities.
  • Lead or coordinate the development of complex proposals, pricing strategies, statements of work, technical responses, and commercial packages in support of competitive pursuits.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and support the deal process through award, contract execution, and transition to delivery teams.
  • Serve as the senior commercial leader for the account, ensuring strong alignment between customer priorities, GE Aerospace capabilities, and growth objectives.
  • Influence internal investment and prioritization decisions by advocating for opportunities with strong strategic and commercial potential.
  • Maintain disciplined opportunity management through CRM, forecasting, pipeline reviews, account reviews, and commercial operating mechanisms.
  • Track and drive progress against bookings, revenue, funnel health, win rate, and account expansion targets.
  • Support strategic positioning for renewals, follow-on awards, contract expansions, and new program opportunities.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, acquisition activity, and customer priorities to refine account strategy and improve win probability.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with proposal, contracts, product, engineering, consulting, and leadership teams to ensure timely, high-quality pursuit execution.
  • Maintain executive presence with the customer and internally, acting as the lead commercial voice for the FAA account.
