Job summary

Beilby Downing Teal Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support WA Government recruitment and selection across multiple agencies. The role focuses on objective, defensible decision-making and impartial documentation for shortlisting, interviews and final reports.

You will manage panel briefings, capture precise notes, and ensure compliance with the Public Sector Management Act and internal policies, while delivering timely, high-quality outcomes in a flexible, assignment-based

Qualifications

• Experience supporting government or public sector recruitment and selection processes.
• Excellent writing, note-taking, analytical and report-preparation skills.
• A sound understanding of merit, equity, procedural fairness and confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and accurately under pressure.
• Professional judgement and confidence working with senior panel members.
• Responsiveness, discretion and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate panel briefings, shortlisting meetings, interviews and final deliberations.
• Capture accurate, objective notes of candidate evidence and panel discussions.
• Guide panels in applying approved selection criteria consistently and in accordance with internal policies.
• Prepare shortlisting matrices, interview summaries, referee-check records and selection reports.
• Document comparative assessments, conclusions and recommendations clearly.
• Incorporate feedback and finalise high-quality documents within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality and secure information handling.
