Job summary

Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, invites applications for a Golf Manager who will assist the Golf and Clubhouse Manager in day-to-day operations of The Pines and The Palms courses. You will lead a team to deliver high service, support competition calendars, tee sheet and cart fleet management, and drive profitable golf shop operations.

• Maintain PGA of Australia membership in good standing.
• Fundamental supervisory practices and principles of golf shop operations.
• Several years' experience in related golf industry frontline services and/or supervisory roles.
• Demonstrated understanding of running golf competitions, rules, and handicapping.
• Ability to work in all areas of golf operations and demonstrate conduct consistent with that of a supervisor.
• A positive, helpful, service-oriented attitude combined with outstanding communication skills.
• The ability to work well both autonomously and in a team, and respond quickly to busy periods.
• Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster with shifts between 5am and 8pm.
• Current, driver's license recognised in an Australian State.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the management and performance of all golf shop and department operations and services; maintain high standards and total Member/guest satisfaction.
• Assist in the development and coordination of annual business planning of the golf department.
• Continue to drive a profitable retail facility that is consistent with Members/guest demographics and needs.
• Assist with all fiscal areas including monthly stock take. Assist the Golf and Clubhouse Manager with performance of the golf operations including planning, and forecasting.
• Oversee and enforce golf shop operations policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory, and resources.

Position Overview

The Golf Manager willassistthe Golfand ClubhouseManager in the day-to-day operations and management of The Pines and The Palms golf coursesasrequired. This includes providing support to increase the department’s overall profit and success. Of priority are the delivery of prompt,friendlyand efficient service to all Members,guestsand visitors, in a manner consistent with established outlet operations, policies and procedures. The role includes assisting withmembers competition calendar and schedule, aswell as tee sheet and cart fleet management. TheGolf Managerwillassistin managing and guiding the Golf Services team to ensure tasks are completed promptly and to a consistently high standard.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

• Maintain PGA of Australia membership in good standing in an active classification
• Fundamental supervisory practices and principles of golf shop operations
• Several years' experience in related golf industry frontline services and/or supervisory roles
• Demonstrated understanding of running golf competitions, rules, and handicapping
• Ability to work in all areas of golf operations and demonstrate conduct consistent with that of a supervisor
• A positive, helpful, service-oriented attitude combined with outstanding communication skills
• The ability to work well both autonomously and in a team, and respond quickly to busy periods
• Availability to work across a seven-day rotating roster with shifts between 5am and 8pm
• Current, driver's license recognised in an Australian State.

Remuneration

• The successful candidate will receive a packaged salary.
• Your ordinary hours of work will be 38 hours per week, plus any reasonable additional hours that are necessary to fulfil your duties or as otherwise required by the employer.
