Job summary

Palm Lake Group is hiring a Golf Course Mechanic for Pelican Waters Golf Club. The role maintains a diverse fleet of turf equipment to keep the 18-hole Greg Norman-designed course among Australia's best. It is a fixed-term, full-time position averaging 38 hours per week across a Monday–Saturday roster.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, maintain service records, and uphold safety and environmental standards in a vibrant resort setting.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Repair is required.
• Current unrestricted manual driving licence is required.
• Experience in small engine repair including diagnosis and troubleshooting is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive issue identification are important.
• Physically capable of demanding outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair turf equipment (mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, small engines) in a timely manner.
• Prioritise urgent repairs as needed.
• Perform diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory.
• Keep the workshop clean and safe at all times.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment at all times.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent and team to improve course and safety programs.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and Palm Lake Group WHS guidelines.

Position Details

We are seeking a skilled and qualified Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team at Pelican Waters Golf Club where you will be maintaining a diverse fleet of high-quality turf equipment (Toro and John Deere) that ensures that our 18-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course is one of the best courses in Australia.

This is a fixed-term, full-time position working 38 hours a week across a shared roster between Monday to Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired on a timely basis, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and small engines (2-stroke and 4-stroke).
• Prioritise and attend to urgent repairs of any description.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory.
• Maintain a clean work environment at all times.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment is maintained at all times.
• Work with the Superintendent and team members to consistently improve the golf course, club grounds, maintenance facility and safety programs.
• Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
• Adhere to Palm Lake Group Workplace Health & Safety guidelines and all company policies.

• A Trade Qualification in Mechanical Repair.
• A current unrestricted manual driver's licence.
• Demonstrated experience in small engine repair, including diagnosis & troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address minor issues proactively.
• Physical capability to undertake demanding outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions quickly.
• Strong time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider Pelican Waters Golf Resort team.
• Initiative to identify improvements to maintenance processes and equipment.
• A demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of, safety in all work undertaken
• An organised and methodical approach to work scheduling & record keeping
